Currency in Cracow

polish zlotyThe currency accepted both in Cracow and all over Poland is Polish Zloty (PLN) 1E=4.2 PLN (as of 2016). In order to make calculations easier, assume that 1E=4 PLN.

Where to buy PLN

There will surely be no problem with exchanging PLN to any other currency and the other way round at airports, train stations, and in currency exchange bureaus. In the case of the latter, try to visit 2 or 3 of them in order to choose the best offer possible.

Keep in mind that currency exchange  do not collect any additional exchange fee.

Where to find money exchange in Cracow?

Within the Old Town area, there are at least 2 or 3 such bureaus on each street. They are also in hotels, shopping centers etc.

Withdraw money by ATM’s

You may also withdraw money by using numerous ATMs. While doing so, be mindful of additional fees that may result from the agreement between your bank or credit card provider and ATM owner. Before withdrawing money, check the price of such a service in your bank. Sometimes it is fixed, but in other cases it is a percentage of the transaction made.
Within the area of the Old Town, ATMs are located on each of the main streets. In malls and shopping centers, you may even be able to withdraw Euros.
In the majority of shops and restaurants, you will be unable to pay in Euro, except of such units as big malls and chain stores. They make sure to inform their prospective clients about such a possibility.
